How The Stack System Works
TheStack is a golf speed-training system designed to remove the guesswork from training for more clubhead speed. The physical club creates a range of loading conditions; the App uses your measurements to prescribe a programme and guide each session.
1. Choose the right training package
The adult Stack training club is a dedicated speed-training device, not a normal golf club for hitting balls. Its five milled weights allow you to change its mass through thirty combinations. The hardware includes a carrying case that doubles as a phone stand, which is handy when using the App on the range.
The device measures 41.5 inches in its adult version. There's also a shorter Junior model made by the manufacturer, so check size suitability before ordering for a young golfer.

2. Check your speed radar
To follow the prescribed speed sessions, you need a device that measures dry-swing speed without hitting a ball. Stack Radar is designed for this and integrates with the App via Bluetooth on supported platforms. Certain other radars are compatible, with data entry and connection options varying by model.
Have a compatible radar already?
Choose the standalone Stack speed trainer. You can use your existing measurement device and still benefit from the included one-year Premium App access and the Coach Gurney online review.
Need all the hardware?
Choose our Stack + Stack Radar combo. This is the simplest route to a matched setup, including Bluetooth-linked speed data and the possibility of Stack Wedging. At current separate prices (NZ$497 + NZ$597 = NZ$1,094), the combo at NZ$997 saves you NZ$97. Free NZ shipping is included.
3. Activate the App and record your baseline
After receiving your hardware, download or access the correct Stack App for your device. The manufacturer's activation instructions describe a serial number on the trainer, used to activate the included membership. Follow the on-screen prompts and complete your athlete profile.
Your baseline session uses a number of different weight settings. You swing the Stack in the way instructed, measure the speeds and enter or transmit them to the App. The resulting profile is the starting point for a training plan shaped to your current swing.

4. Let the programme prescribe the sessions
TheStack App is the training guide. It indicates the required weight, how many sets and repetitions to perform, and when to rest. It monitors results so later sessions can change rather than forcing you to repeat an identical routine indefinitely.
Many programmes run through a block of roughly six to ten weeks with repeated short workouts, but every golfer's actual programme and timetable are different. The aim is consistency and adaptation, not adding random extra swings when you feel energetic.
5. Understand the speed metrics
Stack Speed
Measured swing speed in a standard Stack configuration, creating a repeatable benchmark within the training system.
eSpeed
An estimated driver-equivalent speed. Since TheStack is shorter than your actual driver, the App uses an approximation rather than claiming to measure your driver directly.
Distance Potential
An estimated driving distance based on speed and assumed launch and playing conditions. It is a training metric, not an on-course distance guarantee.
Grit Score
A measure of how faithfully you've followed the prescribed sets, repetitions, schedule and rest. Consistency is part of the process.
6. Progress to the next training block
Once a phase finishes, the App can guide a Progress Check and recommend another block. The available programmes have different objectives: some provide a steady introduction, while others target force, speed or practical training during the season.
This makes TheStack suitable as an ongoing training platform rather than a single short-term challenge. Results still depend on the athlete, training consistency, swing technique and recovery.

7. Improve the rest of your golf
TheStack App has grown well beyond speed training. Its wider ecosystem includes Stack Wedging with Stack Radar, structured Stack Putting sessions, strokes-gained analysis via Stack Stats, Practice Tracker and the Learning Library. Platform support and membership options vary, so use the specific feature guides before selecting your equipment.
- Stack Wedging — develop carry-distance control.
- Stack Putting — make your putting sessions more deliberate.
- Stack Stats and Practice Tracker — see where you gain or lose strokes and monitor practice.
- TheStack App — understand the complete feature set.
