Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before choosing a Stack speed trainer, Stack Radar or complete package in New Zealand. Whether you're starting from scratch or already own a launch monitor, the important details are here.

Choosing the right product

What exactly is TheStack?

TheStack is a weighted speed-training club used alongside the Stack App, which uses your recorded speed measurements to guide adaptive practice sessions. The hardware has five weights and thirty possible weight combinations. It isn't a driver, a weighted golf club for hitting balls or a substitute for your normal playing clubs.

What's the difference between TheStack and the full bundle?

The standalone speed trainer provides the adjustable hardware and a one-year Premium app membership. You must also have a compatible speed-measuring device. The full bundle includes the speed trainer and Stack Radar, giving you a convenient matched setup for dry-swing measurement and supported App integrations.

How much does each item cost in New Zealand?

Our current promotional NZ prices are: TheStack speed trainer NZ$497 (regular comparison price NZ$699); Stack Radar NZ$597; and the complete Stack + Radar bundle NZ$997. At today's individual prices (Stack trainer NZ$497 + Stack Radar NZ$597 = NZ$1,094), the NZ$997 combo saves you NZ$97 compared with purchasing both separately. Every listed Stack product includes free standard shipping throughout New Zealand. Prices can change with future promotions.

Can I purchase Stack Radar on its own?

Yes. Stack Radar is useful as a compact speed-measurement device and also works with supported software features such as Stack Wedging and Practice Tracker. Check app membership details and platform compatibility before purchasing it for a particular feature.

Do you sell TheStack Junior version?

The manufacturer has a shorter Junior hardware version for younger players. Our initial NZ catalogue is built around the adult training system; contact us to discuss availability and suitability before ordering for a junior golfer.

What if I already own one of the older speed radars?

You may not need to replace it. Some compatible PRGR, Garmin, FlightScope, Rapsodo and other devices can work with Stack speed training, but the exact models and supported integration differ. Check our compatible-device guide.

How the training works

How do I know what weight to use?

TheStack App tells you which weight to use during your workout. After an initial baseline session with recorded speed data, the App can guide your programme and adjust subsequent sessions.

How often should I train?

It depends on your programme, available recovery and how your speed is responding. Many manufacturer training blocks use short sessions several times weekly, but follow the schedule and rest periods in the App instead of inventing extra sessions.

How long does one speed session take?

The manufacturer describes many training sessions as approximately 20 minutes. Exact duration can vary by programme and the number of swings and prescribed rest periods.

How quickly will I gain distance?

Gains are individual. Your response depends on training consistency, physical ability, swing mechanics and the translation of clubhead speed into ball flight. TheStack provides measurement and a training process, not an unconditional guarantee of extra metres.

Is this safe if I have an injury?

TheStack involves maximal or near-maximal swinging, which places demands on the body. If you have an injury or physical limitation, consult an appropriate healthcare or sports professional before beginning. Warm up and follow the recommended rest periods.

Do I hit golf balls during Stack speed sessions?

No. The weighted speed trainer is used for measured practice swings without ball impact. A compatible radar must be able to detect a swing when no ball is struck.

What's the difference between Stack Speed and eSpeed?

Stack Speed measures the standard Stack training configuration. eSpeed estimates equivalent driver swing speed accounting for differences in club length. The App can also display Distance Potential, which is an estimate rather than a guarantee of your actual driving distance.

What happens after the first programme?

TheStack App can guide a progress check and suggest the next training block. There are different programmes for different needs and training phases, including Foundation, Full Speed Spectrum, Heavy Hitter and flexible approaches.

Radars and compatibility

Does TheStack require Stack Radar?

TheStack speed trainer requires a radar capable of capturing swing speed without ball contact, but it does not necessarily have to be Stack Radar. Some third-party devices are supported.

Does every launch monitor work?

No. Some launch monitors cannot detect dry swings, and others may require manual speed entry. The exact model matters. Refer to our compatible-speed-devices page before buying.

Can Stack Radar measure more than swing speed?

Yes. It measures clubhead and ball speed and estimates carry and smash factor. It can be used with supported Stack App activities, including Stack Wedging and Practice Tracker.

Can I use Stack Radar indoors?

Supported uses depend on space, positioning and the manufacturer's recommended setup. For any indoor session, verify that the area is safe and that the device has the required measurement conditions.

What about my Garmin R10 or Rapsodo MLM2PRO?

Selected Garmin and Rapsodo models are supported for speed training, with App integration on iOS under specific software or firmware conditions. Check the current supported-model list and setup notes.

Can I use a PRGR radar?

Certain PRGR models can work with Stack speed training using appropriate data-entry methods. They do not necessarily have the same Bluetooth integration as Stack Radar.

What's best for Android and Web?

TheStack's manufacturer support currently lists Stack Radar as the only device offering Bluetooth connectivity with the Android/Web versions of the speed-training app. Other compatible devices may involve manual measurement entry.

The App, Wedging, Putting and Stats

Does TheStack include an App membership?

Yes. TheStack speed-training hardware comes with one year of Premium access, subject to the manufacturer's activation process and membership terms. Renewal terms are managed by The Stack System.

What can TheStack App do besides speed training?

Depending on your membership, platform and equipment, it can provide Stack Wedging, Stack Putting, Stack Stats, Practice Tracker and the Learning Library. We've created individual guides to each feature.

How do I activate my Stack training membership?

Download TheStack App, create or sign in to your account, and follow the hardware activation steps. The manufacturer describes a five-digit serial code beneath the trainer's threaded stem for the iOS activation process.

Do I need Stack Radar for Stack Wedging?

Yes. Stack Wedging depends on Stack Radar to provide integrated carry-distance data for its guided challenges. It is currently available on iOS.

Can I use Stack Putting without TheStack trainer?

Yes, through the appropriate software membership on a supported iOS device. The physical speed-training club is not required to practise putting.

Can I use Stack Stats without any Stack hardware?

Yes. Stack Stats is a scoring and strokes-gained analysis tool that can operate under a suitable app membership without owning the weighted speed trainer.

What does Practice Tracker cost?

TheStack manufacturer currently lists Practice Tracker as free for Stack Radar owners, with no extra tracker subscription. It requires a supported platform, currently iOS.

Does everything work on Android?

No. Android and Web offer selected core features, while Wedging, Putting and Practice Tracker are currently iOS-only. The manufacturer plans further platform releases, but don't purchase assuming an unannounced launch date.
